Experience nature actively!
for children and school classes
The Ötztal Nature Park offers a wide variety of activities and programs for children and school classes. In cooperation with the Tyrolean nature parks, a wide variety of "environmental education" programs are also organized. The nature parks offer everything from half-day to multi-day programs.
The Ötztal Nature Park covers an area of about 500 km². A total of eight nature reserves form a network of particularly natural areas. Different categories of protected areas come into play. They range from simple natural monuments to European protected Natura 2000 areas.
Besides nature conservation, recreation and regional development, research and environmental education are supporting pillars of the nature park's work. Scientific research has a long tradition in the Ötztal. For example, Lake Piburg or the Rotmoostal in Obergurgl are among the best researched natural areas in the Central Alps.
This extensive knowledge and nature as a teacher on the school doorstep are the basis of our environmental education program "NATURPARK ÖTZTAL macht Schule". Eight excursion offers from Lake Piburg up to the Hohe Mut in Obergurgl are available.
Take the opportunity and make nature your classroom for a day.
